Refund Policy

All sales are final. Founder support is a one-time, optional tip at the price shown at checkout — the Codex itself is free, so the tip is non-refundable once your Founder status is granted. Physical store orders have their own terms (see Physical merchandise, below).

Why no refunds

You can evaluate Anime Codex thoroughly before paying:

  • 20 shows are fully accessible without payment, including all 6 criterion scores, full justifications, and the 200-word summaries.
  • The complete methodology is published, with rubric, weights, and the prompt anchors.
  • You can see the structure and quality of the writing on every paywalled show via the metadata, cover art, and inclusion notes.

If, after evaluating 20 free shows and reading the methodology, the rubric isn't for you — please don't buy. If you do buy and then find it isn't for you, that's an editorial mismatch, not a delivery problem, and we won't refund.

The one exception: delivery failure

If you paid for the unlock and did not receive working access — magic link never arrived, link is broken, technical issue prevents you from using the catalogue — that's a delivery failure, not an editorial mismatch. Email us and we'll fix the access. If we genuinely can't deliver, we'll refund the amount you paid.

To request: email [email protected]from the address you used at checkout. Include the date of purchase and a brief description of what isn't working. We respond within 24-48 hours.

Physical merchandise

Store items are printed on demand and made individually for you. If an item arrives damaged, defective, or misprinted, email us within 30 days of delivery with a photo and we'll arrange a free replacement or a refund. Because each item is produced to order, we can't accept returns for a change of mind or the wrong size ordered — please check the sizing and preview your design before checkout. Orders lost in transit are resolved case by case with the print provider.

Chargebacks

If you believe you have a legitimate reason to dispute a charge, please email us first — we can usually resolve access problems within hours, faster than a chargeback. Initiating a chargeback before contacting us means we'll be unable to help you while the dispute is open, and your access will be revoked for the duration.

Future changes to the rankings

Rankings may be revised as the rubric is refined. A score change after your purchase is not a refundable event — you bought the methodology applied to the catalogue, not a specific score on a specific date. The prompt version is stamped on every ranking row, so you can always see when a specific entry was last evaluated.
